The first time I heard about Tiffany was when I watched the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in junior high. I was fascinated by not only the charming Audrey, but also by the Tiffany shop on 5^th Avenue and thought
“I want to visit there some day!!” Tiffany definitely has the power to attract women from any generation.

私が初めてティファニーの存在を知ったのは映画、『ティファニーで朝食を』を見た中学生の頃。　オードリーの可愛さに魅了されたと同時に、私もここに行きたい‼︎と思ったものです。　ティファニーには年齢を問わず、女の子を惹きつけてしまうパワーがあります。

Today’s theme is Tiffany. So, of course I have to write about the Flag Ship Shop on 5^th Avenue. But first, I’ll make it all about the Tiffany motif room. It can be found throughout the highly artistic hotel “The Roxbury“ All the rooms in the hotel have different themes and each of them are epic!

という訳で、今日はティファニーがテーマ。　もちろん、5番街本店についても触れますが、最近『ティファニーで朝食を』をモチーフにしたお部屋を発見しましたので、まずはそちらをご紹介します。　それは、NY州の北部のCatskillにあるデザイン性にとっても優れているThe Roxbury(ロッジ・ホテル)のお部屋の一つ。　実はこのロッジ、一つ一つの部屋にテーマがあって、同じ部屋はありません。

 

Since the owner wanted this room to be like sleeping in one big Tiffany’s blue box, you can find both luxury and cuteness. There are ornaments, tiles and pictures from Breakfast at Tiffany’s…you can feel the spirit of Tiffany everywhere. Needless to say, this room is perfect for proposing, but I am sure that groups of girls sans beaus will love it too!! You can combine multiple rooms to make it bigger for a group stay. I’ll write about The Roxbury and the Catskill in the near future.

このお部屋は、ティファニーブルーのBOXの中にいるような感覚を再現したかったそうで、高級感と可愛さがキュッと詰まっています。　小物から、タイルまで、ティファニーが感じられるようこだわり抜かれており、お部屋に飾られている写真は全て『ティファニーで朝食を』のもの。　プロポーズに最適！と言われているそうですが、女の子同士でも大盛り上がりすること間違いなしです！隣の部屋とコネクトできるのでグループステイも可能。　The Roxburyについては、Catskillと共にまた別途ご紹介できたらと思います。

Now, let’s get back to the Flag Ship Shop on 5^th Avenue. Last month, people were worried that the neighbor (Trump Tower) would affect Tiffany’s Christmas decorations but it turned out fine. They have one of the most fascinating illuminations and window displays on 5^th avenue.

では、マンハッタンに戻って最近のティファニー5番街本店。お隣さんの影響(Trump　Tower)が出るのでは？と言われていますが、デコレーションは心配ご無用。　外観も例年通り美しいクリスマスイルミネーションがとっても目立っています！ ウィンドーディスプレイも可愛い。

Also, the inside of the shop is beautifully decorated and I’m excited just by walking around. Since this is such a famous shop, they have novelty goods that attract boundless tourists every day.

店内もフロアーごとにデコレーションがされていて、歩いているだけで心がトキメク。　この5番街には限定品も多いので、観光客はもちろん、いつも沢山の人で賑わっています。

There are other places you can find Tiffany in NYC. For example, the big clock on the top of the Grand Central Station is the biggest clock Tiffany has ever made. Believe it or not, NY Yankees logo was designed by Tiffany company, too. In recent news, they have also partnered with the Whitney museum. It’s truly a New York brand.

店舗の他にもニューヨークには色々とティファニーを感じられる物・場所があります。例えばグランドセントラルの時計はティファニーが作った一番大きな時計。　そしてニューヨークヤンキースのロゴはティファニーがデザインを手がけました。最近ではホイットニー美術館とパートナーシップを結んだりもしています。生粋のニューヨークブランドですね。

I’m glad that I can finally live in the city of Tiffany that made me scream “I wanna go there!” 20 years ago. My childhood image of Tiffany has not faded at all…I wonder whether similar memories are reason why Tiffany is loved by others from all over the world.

20年前には『行きたい‼』と思っても行けなかった場所に今住んでいるのは、私も大人になったということでしょうが、ティファニーの素敵な印象そのものは全然薄れていません。　この薄れない魅力が、世代を超えて世界中から愛されるジュエラーの証なのかな、と思います。
