Gotan is a perfect café for fine coffee and healthy food. There are numerous cafés that offer good coffee and pastries, but also providing a fresh food menu with homemade sandwiches and salads is remarkable.

美味しいコーヒーとヘルシーな食事がしたいにピッタリのカフェ、Gotan。美味しいコーヒーとパティスリーが楽しめるカフェはニューヨークに数えきれないほどありますが、それに加えてフレッシュフードが充実しているカフェは、貴重な存在です。

Good coffee, plus skilled barista who can make beautiful latte art, is the minimum requirement for trendy cafés nowadays. Of course, Gotan has both of them, and you can taste their enthusiasm in every cup of joe.

まず、コーヒーの美味しさはもちろん、可愛いラテアートをしてくれるバリスタがいるのは、カフェとしての絶対条件。　Gotanの一杯からもしっかりその“美味しいコーヒー”への情熱を感じます。お茶もポットで出してくれるところが私好み。

I think food menus at cafés in general are very simple or premade yet Gotan is different. Their menu consists of lots of fresh food and they make it in the kitchen by order. On their menu, salad is my absolute favorite. All salads contain a variety of fresh ingredients and big enough to satisfy my appetite.

そしてカフェのフードメニューと言えば、既にパッキングされているものが多いイメージですが、Gotanは、サンドウィッチやサラダなど、新鮮野菜を取り入れたものが多く、注文してからちゃんとキッチンで作ってくれます。　メニューの中でも私のお気に入りはサラダ。　どのサラダも様々な素材が使われているので食べていて飽きず、ボリュームがしっかりあるのでお腹いっぱいになりますよ。

By the way, their spacious eat-in area, especially the one in Tribeca is perfect for reading books or laptop key-clacking and I often stay there for a long time. There are many other folks like me and it really turns into library or work place sometimes.

さてさて、広めのイートインスペースは、食事やお茶をしながら本を読みふけったり、パソコンをカチカチしたりするのに最適なので、つい長居してしまいます。　周りに仕事や勉強をしている人が多いので、私にとっては作業が捗る場所でもあります。
