Birch Coffee is the café I found while I was walking around the city and coincidentally wondering “Where can I find a cup of coffee…”  Having said that, it’s one of the popular cafés in NYC; they have 8 locations in the city and each of them has stylish, comfortable space to enjoy coffee and chill.

Birch Coffeeは『コーヒー飲みたいなぁ〜。』と思いながら歩いていたら出会ったコーヒーショップの一つ。　とは言ってもNY市内では有名で、マンハッタン内にコーヒーショップの他、素敵なカフェが数店舗あります。 コーヒーショップは席数が限られているものの、ミッドタウンやダウンタウンにあるカフェスタイルの店舗には、お洒落でくつろげるスペースがあり、常に賑わってる人気ぶり。 

Maybe it’s just because my first drink was Drip Coffee, my favorite drink became simple Drip Coffee or Cold Brew. It is perfect for me when I just feel “I want to have some coffee…” since it doesn’t have any bitterness or sourness. This café imports coffee beans but roasts them in Long Island City, NY.

気に入ったきっかけが通りすがりに飲んだドリップコーヒーだったこともあって、ここでのオススメドリンクはシンプルにDripとCold Brew。Birch Coffeeは豆選びだけではなく、ローストもLong Island City, NYで独自に行っています。苦味や酸味があまりなく、スッキリ飲めるので『ちょっとコーヒー飲みたいなぁ〜。』という時にピッタリなのです。

I feel close to the staff here. Even the owner pour the coffee and serve the customers. Everyone that work s there is kind and dedicated.

また、ここはスタッフとの距離が近いと感じるカフェです。　オーナー自らコーヒーを注ぎ、接客している姿も見かけます。直にお客様の反応やカフェの様子を見ることを大切にしている姿勢は好感度が持てますよね。

If you are interested in this café but not able to come to NY anytime soon, I recommend that you check out “Stay regular” on their website. This is their program in which Birch Coffee interviews people from different industries. The video will let you experience atmosphere of the café. Besides that, I enjoy listening to how people who are active and successful in the city. It motivates me.

This is a personal opinion but I think their video series is a big part of the originality of this café. I think it’s very important to see the market from different angles. Launching unique marketing is necessary to become well known by people in this competitive city. But good coffee is necessary to actually be loved.

個人的な意見ではありますがこれって、このカフェのオリジナリティでもありますよね。　数えきれないほどのカフェがあるNYで人々に選ばれる存在になるには、このような違う角度からのマーケティングがとても大切なのだなあ、と思います。
